Annapurna - Identity Fragmented

The first of a collection paying tribute to the artists Indian Heritage, Annapurna is both, the mountain in the Himalyas, and the Goddess of Nourishment Food and Abundance. She is represented by our mothers and grandmothers who nourish us and create the abundance in our joyful youths. This beautiful identity, fragmented when crossing oceans, she loses parts of herself, in order to maintain nourishment for her children in foreign lands, among a tongue she does not yet understand. This tribute is to all the immigrant mothers and grandmothers who broke themselves so that we may be whole, wherever we go!
